Lynn Library Publishes New READ Poster

Lynn History Professor John Pickering featured in latest READ poster! Dr. John Pickering, History Professor at Lynn University, is featured in Lynn Library’s latest READ poster. Dr. Pickering recommends the book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by history scholar Doris Kearns Goodwin. Pickering explains, “I have a great interest in Abraham Lincoln and knew this book would be a classic – which proved CORRECT! I learned how Lincoln’s qualities should be sought in our future presidents. Doris Kearns Goodwin is an excellent writer!” Dr. Pickering has been teaching at Lynn University since 1976. His courses include American History Surveys, American Capitalism, American Foreign Policy, and America through Film. He has written several book reviews and was named the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award in 1990 by Lynn students. Dr. Pickering is also featured in the instructional video, “Magazines vs. Scholarly Journals,” produced by Lynn University Library. This is the fifth READ poster published by Lynn Library. Past posters included Lynn University President Kevin Ross, Stephen Aiello, Assistant Professor in the College of International Communication, Lynn University mascot Big LU and student/athlete, Brittany Evernden.

RefWorks -- an online research management, writing and collaboration tool -- is designed to help students and researchers easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies.
